Building Systems
Start-up
Building Systems Start-up services are becoming a "lost art". There is great emphasis in construction today on performing all activities "better, faster, cheaper". The trend is to implement this important service with tools that perform the thinking for the installer. While there is merit to utilizing tools to help aid in efficiently starting individual systems, it does not address the issue of sequencing, interaction with other trades and systems, safety, and overall project schedule.

General contractors are often faced with the the challenge of being behind schedule do to weather delays, owner constraints, poor performing subcontractors, etc. It can become very tempting for a general contractor to create the illusion to the owner of a project being complete by pushing the schedule on final paint, ceiling tile, carpet, and casework. However, completing these finishes prior the the mechanical and electrical services being able to properly condition the space can create significant damages and significant hidden inefficiencies.
Our start-up specialists analyze your schedule to determine if your temporary HVAC targets, occupancy and move-in dates are achievable given the milestone and sequencing steps that are in the baseline plan. We then provide feedback on areas of risk and create mitigation strategies where necessary. Then, when your systems are ready to be started, we are there to assist in the proper start-up and testing of your equipment.
